Glenn Phillips


Director Glenn Phillips has been involved in barbershopping for over 39 years, singing in quartets since high school. Glenn took two quartets to the Far Western District quartet semi-finals while in college, and nine quartets to the Mid-Atlantic District quartet semi-finals in recent years. He currently sings in the Ear Candy, Decades, and Retreads quartets.

Glenn previously sang for several years with the Whittier Choraliers and Masters of Harmony on the West Coast, then later directed the Sweet Adelines Desert Harmony Chorus for two years while living in Australia. He currently directs both the Heart of Maryland Chorus and the Voices of DelMarVa A Cappella Chorus in the Mid-Atlantic District.

Glenn was inducted into the M-AD Honors Chapter DELASUSQUEHUDMAC in 2012 and was named to the M-AD Hall of Honor in 2017. He previously served as District VP for Chorus Director Development (2013-17) and currently serves as District VP for Music & Performance (2018-19). Glenn was named to the District Board of Directors as a Member at Large and will commence this position in 2020.

Glenn earned a degree in Music Education from the University of Southern California in 1987 and has considerable experience in choral conducting, composition, arranging, and singing classical art songs and opera.
